The Worst Witch is the story of an ordinary girl who finds herself in an extraordinary place: a school for witches. Now in her final year, accident-prone Mildred Hubble leaves a trail of mayhem behind her as she finds herself at the centre of a battle that’s being fought for the future of the school.
The Worst Witch was adapted for the stage by Emma Reeves (2017 Royal Television Society Award for Best Children’s TV Programme and 2017 British Screenwriters Award for Best Children’s Programme) from Jill Murphy’s beloved series of classic novels. The production included original music composed by Luke Potter and was directed by Theresa Heskins (2017 UK Theatre Award for Best Show for Children and Young People).
The Worst Witch premiered at Royal & Derngate, Northampton in 2019 and toured the UK before transferring to the Garrick Theatre in London’s West End that year. The show was most recently performed at London’s Vaudeville Theatre in 2019.
The Worst Witch won the Olivier Award for Best Family Show in 2020.
